[Omaha, Neb. - July 8, 1999] - MSI Systems Integrators (MSI), an Omaha-based systems integrator and technology services provider with offices throughout the Midwest, was recently named to the 1999 VARBusiness 500, an exclusive ranking of the top 500 value-added resellers (VARs) and integrators in North America. Published in the June 14 issue of CMP Media's VARBusiness magazine, the 1999 VARBusiness 500 is comprised of the 500 largest VARs, systems integrators and IT consultants by revenue.

According to Mark Kindley, the VARBusiness editor who compiled the top 500 list, the companies on the VARBusiness 500 overall have aggregate revenue of $191 billion, up 24 percent from last year, and an indication of the economic power wielded by the leading VARs and integrators. He noted that the cumulative sales of the 500 companies would rank first on the Fortune 500, eclipsing General Motors by a margin of $30 billion. Publication of the list and the accompanying analysis of trends impacting these firms is an important news event taken note of among vendors, VARs, integrators, IT managers and the general press, he said. "The entire industry looks to these companies to set the direction. Everyone aspires to be on this list, regardless of size."

In April, MSI was named Technology Company of the Year at the 6th Annual Nebraska Technology Celebration Banquet sponsored by the Applied Information Management (AIM) Institute.
