MSI Systems Integrators Achieves 26 ITIL Certifications
ITIL Standards Deliver Business Advantages and Best Practices
[Omaha, Neb. - April 7, 2005] - MSI Systems Integrators (MSI), a leading comprehensive solution provider of hardware, software and services, has achieved 26 foundation certifications in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The ITIL training provides MSI's Enterprise Management Solutions team a set of best practice for management procedures for IT service delivery and support. ITIL guidelines assist IT organizations in optimizing the cost of IT service planning, provisioning and support.
"MSI has embraced ITIL as an essential approach to IT service management for people and processes," said Don Geier, chief technology officer, MSI. "The ITIL disciplines provide our architects and engineers with a set of templates for identifying critical business processes, service level requirements, optimum technology architectures and reporting mechanisms to benefit our customers. Customers find that through the adoption of ITIL, they become better aligned with the requirements of the business and oftentimes see measurable improvement in the satisfaction of the end-user communities."
In addition to best practices processes, ITIL proscribes the deployment of tools to facilitate service-level management, capacity management, contingency planning, availability management, cost management for IT services, configuration management, incident and problem management, change and release management. Selecting and deploying the right tools is an area in which MSI has developed considerable expertise. Using our Business Service Management (BSM) Fast Start offering, customers can receive an executive overview of ITIL and BSM, build or enhance their IT Services Catalog, develop a BSM architecture and participate in a proof-of-technology for the selected tools.
"Because ITIL resides in the public domain and is not proprietary to any one vendor or technology, we are seeing very fast adoption within the US. At MSI, we are committed to provide our customers with ITIL consulting, education, certifications and automation tools to facilitate with the industry's move towards IT service management. The number of Foundation and Master certified personnel at MSI demonstrates our commitment to ITIL and positions us to best support our customers," said Jason Black, enterprise management solutions leader, MSI.
MSI represents management tools from the following vendors; IBM/Tivoli, BMC, Remedy, NetBotz, Microsoft, Veritas, Cisco, F5, Fujitsu, McDATA, Symantec, Pharos and Lexmark.
After its inception of ITIL standards in 1992, public companies in the United States realized its benefits and implemented components of ITIL in their internal IT departments. According to the ITIL Service Management Forum, the number of ITIL members has tripled over the past three years.
