IBM Chooses MSI Systems Integrators' Robin Tatam for System i Residency Program
Tatam Chosen as One of Three Worldwide
[OMAHA, Neb. - April 23, 2007] - MSI Systems Integrators (MSI), a leading comprehensive solution provider of hardware, software and services, announced that MSI Senior System i Engineer Robin Tatam has been chosen by IBM for its System i Security Residency program, titled Protecting i5/OS Data by Encryption. As a member of the residency, Mr. Tatam will work with subject matter experts including the i5/OS developers and gain recognition for contributing the IBM System i Security: Protecting i5/OS Data by Encryption Redbook.
Database Encryption, regulatory and industry-specific requirements, such as SOX, Visa PCI and HIPAA require that sensitive data be stored securely and protected against unauthorized access or modifications. Several of the requirements state that data need to be encrypted. I5/OS offers several options that would allow customers to encrypt data in the database tables. The new IBM Redbook would introduce all encryption services and functions, provide implementation planning information, key management topics, and examples of how to encrypt/decrypt data including programs to manage encryption keys.
The residency runs through May 25 and takes place in Rochester, MN. To be considered for the program, applicants were required to demonstrate advanced skill levels for System i and encryption technology.
